Who Will Buy?

Who will buy this wonderful morning?

Such a sky you never did see.

Who will tie it up with a ribbon

And put it in a box for me?

There’ll never be a day so sunny

It could not happen twice

Where is the man with all the money?

It’s cheap at half the price.

Who will buy this wonderful feeling?

I’m so high I swear I could fly

Me oh my I don’t want to lose it

So what am I to do to keep the sky so blue?

Oom Pah Pah!

Start singing at 0:41

Oom pah pah Oom pah pah

That’s how it goes

Oom pah pah Oom pah pah

Ev’ryone knows

(The all suppose what they want to suppose

When they hear Oom pah pah)

Oom pah pah Oom pah pah

That’s how it goes

Oom pah pah Oom pah pah

Ev’ryone knows

They all suppose what they want to suppose

(When they hear Oom)

Pah pah!

Consider Yourself

Start Singing at 2:34

Consider yourself at home

Consider yourself one of the family

We’ve taken to you so strong

It’s clear we’re going to get along

Consider yourself well in

Consider yourself part of the furniture

There isn’t a lot to spare

Who cares whatever we’ve got we share

If it should chance to be

We should see some harder days

Empty larder days why grouse?

Always a chance we’ll meet

Somebody to foot the bill

Then the drinks are on the house

Consider yourself our mate

We don’t want to have no fuss

For after some consideration we can state

Consider yourself one of us!

Food Glorious Food!

Is it worth the waiting for?

If we live ‘til eighty-four

All we ever get is gruel!

Every day we say our prayer

Will they change the bill of fare?

Still we get the same old gruel!

There’s not a crust, not a crumb we can find,

Can we beg, can we borrow, or cadge,

But there’s nothing to stop us from

Getting a thrill when we all close our eyes and imagine

Food glorious food!

Hot sausage and mustard!

While we’re in the mood

Cold jelly and custard!

Pease pudding and saveloys

What next is the question

Rich gentlemen have it boys

In-dye-gestion!

Food glorious food!

We’re anxious to try it

Three banquets a day

Our favourite diet!

Just picture a great big steak

Fried, roasted or stewed

Oh, food wonderful food marvelous food glorious food

Food glorious food

What is there more handsome?

Gulped, swallowed or chewed

Still worth a king’s ransom

What is it we dream about?

What brings on a sigh?

Piled peaches and cream about

Six feet high.

Food glorious food

Eat right through the menu

Just loosen your belt

Two inches and then you

Work up a new appetite

In this interlude

On food magical food

Wonderful food

marvelous food

fabulous food

(beautiful food)

Glorious food.

Northern Lights

Aurora Borealis (x4)

Lights flicker, lights flash

Lights flutter, they dart and they dash

Earth is frozen in Arctic ice,

But the sky looks warm

When the colours form.

Pink and purple, yellow and red

Indigo and emerald in spirals overhead

Dancing in the darkness

Lighting up the night.

What a beautiful sight, northern lights.

Aurora borealis

Lights glimmer, lights glow

Lights shimmer, and shine on the snow

Fingers are frozen and toes are cold.

But our hearts are warm

When the colours form

Pink and purple, yellow and red

Indigo and emerald in spirals overhead

Dancing in the darkness

Lighting up the night.

What a beautiful sight, northern lights.

Maybe it’s a miracle.

Maybe it’s a sign

That there is something out there,

Celestial or divine.

Sleigh Ride

Paroles:

A la claire fontaine,

M’en allant promener,

J’ai trouvé l’eau si belle

Que je m’y suis baigné.

Il y’a longtemps que je t’aime,

Jamais je ne t’oublierai.

Sous les feuilles d’un chêne,

Je me suis fait sécher,

Sur la plus haute branche

Un rossignol chantait.

Il y’a longtemps que je t’aime,

Jamais je ne t’oublierai.

Chante, rossignol, chante,

Toi qui a le cœur gai,

Tu as le cœur a rire,

Moi, je l’ai à pleurer.

Il y’a longtemps que je t’aime,

Jamais je ne t’oublierai.

J’ai perdu mon amie,

Sans l’avoir mérité

Pour un bouquet à roses,

Que je lui refusai.

Il y’a longtemps que je t’aime

Jamais je ne t’oublierai.

Je voudrais que la rose,

Fût encore au rosier,

Et que ma douc’ amie

Fût encore à m’aimer.

Il y’a longtemps que je t’aime

Jamais je ne t’oublierai.

Jamais, jamais je ne t’oublierai.

The Fox

Lyrics:

The fox went out on a chilly night,

He prayed to the moon to give him light,

For he’d many a mile to go that night

Before he reached the town-o, town-o, town-o

Many a mile to go that night

Before he reached the town-o.

He ran till he came to a great big bin

Where the ducks and the geese were put there in.

“A couple of you will grease my chin

Before I leave this town-o, town-o, town-o,

A couple of you will grease my chin before I leave this town-o”

He grabbed the grey goose by the neck,

Threw a duck behind his back;

He didn’t mind the “quack, quack, quack!”

And their legs all a dangling down-o, down-o, down-o,

He didn’t mind the “quack, quack, quack!”

And their legs all dangling down-o.

The old gray woman jumped out of bed;

Out of the window she cocked her head, crying,

“John, John! The grey goose is gone!”

And the fox is on the town-o!” town-o, town-o

Crying “John, John! The grey goose is gone

And the fox is on the town-o.”

He ran ‘til he came to his cozy den;

There were the little ones eight, nine, ten.

They said, “Daddy, daddy, better go back again,

It must be a mighty fine town-o”

The fox and his wife without any strife

They cut up the goose with a fork and a knife,

And they never had such a supper in their life

And the little ones chewed on the bones-o, bones-o, bones-o!

They never had such a supper in their life

And the little ones chewed on the bones.

The little ones chewed on the bones-o!

La neige tombe, tombe doucement

d'un ciel tout gris.

Change un matin triste et sombre

en hiver magique.

Cold and clean and white,

Shining diamond bright,

All the world seems right.

Quand...

La neige tombe, tombe doucement

d'un ciel tout gris.

From a dawn crisp in its chill,

through a sunless noon;

to an evening lovely and still,

under a silver moon.

Snow is drifting, gently drifting

through the frosty air.

Fills an ordinary place

with wonder everywhere.

Cold and clean and white,

Shining diamond bright,

All the world seems right.

Quand...

La neige tombe, tombe doucement

d'un ciel tout gris.

Change un matin triste et sombre

en hiver magique.

La neige tombe, tombe doucement

d'un ciel tout gris.

d'un ciel tout gris.

One day Santa Claus

Did a most peculiar thing.

He enrolled in music class

so he could learn to sing.

He worked so very hard

and practiced all the day.

Soon ev'ry song that Santa knew

he sang the solfege way.

And he sang,

mi, mi, mi.

mi, mi, mi.

mi, sol, do, re, mi.

fa, fa, fa, fa, fa,

mi, mi, mi,

sol, sol, fa, re, do.

Missus Claus was quite impressed

and she, too, very soon

teamed up with Santa Claus

to join him in his tune.

The evles and reindeer, too,

soon left their work and play

to be a part of Santa's choir

and sing the solfege way.

And they sang:

do, mi, sol, mi.

do, do, la, ti, do.

re, sol, la, ti,

do, do, do, do,

ti, ti, ti, ti, do.

Now ev'ry afternoon

Santa and the rest

practice their new song

so they will be the best.

And if you watch T.V.

you'll see how singing's brought them fame.

For all accross the land

they are a North Pole idol name.

And they sing:

(Pt1)

mi, mi, mi.

mi, mi, mi.

mi, sol, do, re, mi.

fa, fa, fa, fa, fa,

mi, mi, mi,

sol, sol, fa, re, do.

(Pt2)

do, mi, sol, mi.

do, do, la, ti, do.

re, sol, la, ti,

do, do, do, do,

ti, ti, ti, ti, do.

(everyone together)

So have a happy holiday

and sing the solfege way.

mi, sol, do re mi!

Oseh Shalom

Hello all!

Our piece for the Remembrance Day Ceremony this year is Oseh Shalom. It is a composition by Joan Beckow with words from a traditional Jewish text in Hebrew. I have modified the words to be more along the lines of "A wish for peace". The text means "May the one who causes peace to reign have peace descend upon us, let us say peace"

Please feel free to practice these at home as much as you like. The kids know whether they are part 1 or part 2. Even just running through it once or twice can be hugely beneficial to their confidence in the whole group.
